Blue-spotted salamander Ambystoma laterale
Identification: The blue-spotted salamander is between 3.5 and 5 inches long. They are speckled with blue or white spots on a darker blue/black base on their entire body.
Habitat: This salamander is found in moist hardwood forests and wooded swamps/marshes/bogs. They are found burrowing under logs, moss, rocks, and vegetation.
