Pickerel Frog

Identification: The pickerel frog is, on average, between 1.5 to 3 inches long. They range in color from tan to green and have 2 (or 3) parallel lines of square dark spots along the back and hind legs. The undersides of the thighs are bright yellow of orange. Young pickerel frogs will appear almost metallic.

Habitat: This frog will be found near water or moist woodland areas. This includes edges of lakes, ponds, streams, wet pastures, and wet fields. They use dense vegetation for cover along these edges.
