Hi all it's Jane's editor, Cassie here!

In answering all the questions you guys sent in for Jane, I also asked you to provide some of your favorite quotes from her novel! I thought that it would be interesting for Jane to hear exactly which phrases caught your eyes and impacted your lives! So here are all the quotes you liked best:

  • "Even for me life had its gleams of sunshine" (pg 49).

  • "Life appears to me too short to be spent in nursing animosity or registering wrongs" (Pg 71)

  • "The new face, too, was like a new picture introduced to the gallery of memory; and it was dissimilar to all the others hanging there" (Pg 137).

  • "And for those trembling stars that followed her [the moon] course, they made my heart tremble, my viens glow, when I viewed them. Little things recall us to Earth; the clock struck in the hall; that sufficed-- I turned from moon and stars, opened a side-door, and went in" (pg 139)

  • "Besides, since happiness is irrevocably denied me, I have a right to get pleasure out of life; and I will get it, cost what it may" (pg 163).

  • "The eagerness of a listener quickens the tongue of a narrator" (Pg 236)

  • "There is no happiness like that of being loved by our fellow-creatures, and feeling that your prescence is an addition to their comfort" (Pg 288).
