Civil Discourse Lab Deliberative Dialogue: Shaping Our Future--How Should Higher Education Help Us Create the Society We Want?

We will use the National Issues Forum deliberative issue guide to collectively discuss how and whether higher education has allowed us to create the kind of society we want and to advance the country’s economic, political, and social progress.  We will consider the questions: What should we expect of higher education today when it comes to the nation? What could colleges and universities, including community colleges, trade and vocational schools, and other such institutions do to help us create the society we want?  We also will consider the issue of affordability, value, and declining public trust in higher education.
