Dr. Lydia Reinig, Postdoctoral Research and Teaching Associate, earned her Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2019, an M.A. in Communication Studies from Colorado State University, and a B.A. in Communication Studies from Creighton University. Her research explores public engagement, focused on how situated communication practices foster and constrain democratic action. Her work has been published in Journal of Applied Communication Research, Environmental Communication, and Journal of International and Intercultural Communication. She has also presented public participation interventions conducted in partnership with the City of Boulder, Colorado at both the National Coalition for Dialogue and Deliberation (NCDD) and the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2). At UNH, she teaches courses on topics of civic discourse and qualitative research methods while working on behalf of the Department of Communication’s Civil Discourse Lab, which seeks to cultivate meaning conversations about difficult topics.
