I am an applied statistician in the general area of environmental statistics with over 30 years of experience.  My expertise is in spatial and spatial-temporal statistics, Bayesian modeling and data analysis, computational statistics, statistical downscaling in climate research.  I consider myself a generalist rather than a specialist. I facilitate serious statistical modeling and analysis via collaborations with scientists.  My collaborations emcompass the natural sciences, ecology, earth system science, climate, agriculture, wildlife, fisheries, geology, remote sensing, engineering, infrastructure, transportation, hydrology, education, data mining.

I have been teaching numerous courses from the undergraduate level to advanced graduate level, including:  Introductory statistics, linear regression and ANOVA, design of experiments, multivariate statistics, graduate statistics for research, time series analysis, Bayesian statistics, spatial statistics, spatial-temporal statistics, data mining and statistical learning, extreme value theory and applications, smoothing and nonparametric curve fitting, longitudinal data analysis, introduction to the R software, advanced computing with R, statistical learning under sparsity.
