Stacey is a recent graduate of the UNH master's program where she studied microbial community dynamics in thawed permafrost. Her thesis examined how microbial community assembly forms after permafrost thaw. A in depth look at mechanisms were used to determine if community assembly forms at random or if it is governed by deterministic mechanisms.
Lukas is near completion of his Master's degree where he studied microbial life history strategies in agricultural systems. His research aims to assist researchers and farmers by combining microbial ecology with sustainable farming practices using microbes as predictors and mediators of soil health and fertility.
