Caroline Kanaskie
PhD student, Community ecology of the Southern pine beetle north of its historical range

Caroline is a PhD student studying the community ecology of range expansion in the context of the Southern pine beetle (Dendroctonus frontalis). Caroline recently completed her MSc (Spring 2020) in the Garnas lab. Her Masters research focused on quantifying reproductive success of the southern pine beetle (SPB) as well as richness and abundance of SPB predators, competitors, and fungal associates as SPB moves north of its historic range.
