Rhetoric is currently defined as the studying the technique of using language effectively (1). Rhetoric is how people are able to commutate with one another in the must effective manner by presenting themselves in a certain way or conveying their point in a particular manner.
Rhetoric has been used many times in my life when asking my mother for anything when I was growing up. The way in which I would ask and the demeanor I presented myself in was very important if I wanted a yes. "Rhetoric has been used and miss used constantly over the course of history to the extent that today it is miss understood by most people"(1). This quote particular means something to me as I personally didn't know what rhetoric even remotely meant before watching In Defense of Rhetoric. I had even gone on to ask my roommates what they thought rhetoric meant and know of them were able to answer. I believe this quote to be true as up until now. The major part of this exercise that suck with me was the use of the three concepts, like logos, ethos, and pathos, to explain the meaning of rhetoric (2).
