Anthropology 680

Celebrating 20 years of the Seacoast African American Cultural Center in Portsmouth, students in ANTH680 Africana Religions curated an exhibit of Africana art and material culture to accompany the former White House photographer Peter Souza's "Obama: An Intimate Portrait" traveling photograph exhibit soon to be on display there. The student's exhibit, titled "An Ancestral Legacy," features objects from the Center's collection from East and West Africa and African American contexts that foregrounds President Obama's broader cultural heritage and legacy in international relations and African Diaspora peoples.
