Born in Cheshire, England, Victoria traveled extensively as a child. She lived in India and Pakistan, but received her education in English boarding schools. She held her first one-woman show in Aldeburgh, Suffolk, in 1972. She came to America with her husband, Lawrence, in 1973, who has always played a vital supportive role in her successful career.
Victoria Elbroch studied etching at the Lock Haven Art Center in Orlando, Florida and at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. She also spent three years working with master printmaker, Loraine Moore. They traveled in the UK together and held a two-person show in Oklahoma City in 1980. Victoria started entering National Arts Festivals in 1978, and while raising two children, has had a very happy more than 40-year career making her living from her art.
Victoria is the receipient of the Piscataqua Region Artist Advancement Grant for 2019 from the NH Charitable Foundation for her mixed media drawings.
Victoria has won numerous awards for her prints including the Savoir Faire/Charbonell Award at the 2015 Boston Printmaker’s Biennial. She is a juried member of the Boston Printmakers, Zea Mays Printmaking, and the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen; she also currently serves on North Country Studio Workshop’s Board of Directors.
Victoria specializes in drawing with collage and two printmaking mediums, monotype and photopolymer etching. Her lastest prints come from drawing both in ink and mixed media with collage. Inspired by nature and world travel in the UK and Asia, she is creating ever more challenging drawings and prints.
