What is Medical Humanities?
Medicine is concerend with birth, death, illness, pain -- the parts of life that force people to confront the relationship between their bodies, identities, and cultures. Medical Humanists are historians, anthropologists, literary critics, philosophers, and many other scholars in the humanities who are interested in using their skills to investigate the way medical practice and knowledge intersects with these central human experiences. By revealing the bonds between the scientific and humanist aspects of medicine, Medical Humanities offers interdisciplinary ways of understanding how we live, love, die, and care for one another.
