Coastal wetland restoration ecology, conservation, and land management in both temperate and tropical habitats are the main focuses of our lab. Specific emphasis is placed on anthropogenic impacts to wetlands and the management of invasive species within these habitats. The interplay between plant community patterns and sediment biogeochemistry is explored through short and long-term studies to improve understanding of the causes of habitat loss, plant species invasions, and to develop innovative strategies for restoring native plant communities, including promoting rare species.
