Dr. Walsh has spent years researching the prevalence and risk factors of child abuse in rural and non-rural areas. Relevant areas of study include the evaluation of multidisciplinary responses to child abuse as well as resilience among maltreated children. She also has worked on a countywide initiative in Coos County in New Hampshire to enhance the support systems for families of young children.
