My research is focused on the development, testing and implementation of innovative assistive and information communication technology to improve participation of individuals with disabilities and the elderly.  The broader goals of my research are to:

  • Examine and optimize the interaction of people with disabilities and technology from a human factors perspective
  • Develop best practices and guidelines to integrate technology for people with disabilities and older adults for participation in education, employment, and community living
  • Develop methods and tools to measure the clinical, functional and psychosocial outcomes and benefits of technology use by people with disabilities
  • Help integrate service delivery models and research evidence to optimize the quality of assistive technology service provision
