Having a growing interest in the environment and environmental conservation, I decided to take Surveying Sustainability here at the University of New Hampshire. When taking Sustainability 401, I learned that sustainability can impact social, economic, and environmental aspects of the world. Not only did we use sustainability to understand "wicked problems" associated with our modern world, but in creating our own personal action projects, we were able to learn how each of us personally could work towards becoming more sustainable. Having this project assignment allowed me to see how much water I was wasting when showering, washing dishes, and cleaning my hands. Understanding sustainability from a personal standpoint allowed me to see the influence of our daily actions and practices on the environment. SUST 401 is where my interests really flourished and I decided I wanted to be a part of the Sustainability Dual Major.
