My favorite elective for the sustainability dual major was A Taste of the Tropics. This course contained information on tropical climates and tropical agriculture. This elective stood out to me because I had not known much about agriculture prior, so I felt as though I learned the most within this elective course. I learned about a variety of cultures agricultural systems and how they cultivate and propagate crops. This course contributed to my sustainability dual major because I gained knowledge on many different kinds of food systems, and how climate change can influence crop production. I think taking this course, I was able to view sustainability from a whole different perspective than I had before. Being inexperienced in tropical agriculture I gained a lot of useful knowledge that I did not initially expect given I had chosen this course randomly as my final SUST dual major elective.
