SUST 750:
This class highlighted the value of working across majors. The expertise that each of my team members brought to the table allowed us to create a project that addressed many facets of the challenge. The community garden idea represented many parts of previous sustainability courses such as food systems, stakeholder engagement, and academic research. This course showed how the abstract topics I have been learning about have real impacts. The knowledge I have gained can be utilized to accomplish sustainable goals.
Next Steps:
The dual major gave my primary major context and direction. As a business student, I learned many skills. Sustainability gives me the place to apply those skills in a meaningful way. Sustainability's emphasis on relationships and long-term engagement will be important as I find my own niche in the world. I have one more semester before I graduate. I plan to begin consulting work immediately after. I will focus on sustainability certifications and impact management for companies.
