Back in my freshman year of college I was initially a criminal justice and international affairs, IA, dual major. To introduce students to the major and what it entailed an introductory course was required. The course was split into three seperate modules; one for Geography, one for Politics, and one for Environmental Science. Each of the three subjects were intertwined in terms of the IA concepts, but varied in the presented materials. Seeing as I am now an Environmental Geography and Sustainability dual major, this course provided good insight into both these fields. My overall take away from the course was that although these concepts may differentiate by place, they are all connected on a basic level. I believe that this course contributed to my background knowledge in the sustainability field, as Geography, Politics, and Environmental Science all play a role in this field.
