The second elective course that I took to meet the elective course requirement for the Sustainability Dual Major was a course entitled A Taste of the Tropics. I took this course in particular, because it is part of the Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems bachelor of science degree program, a program in which I am interested. What I enjoyed learning about most in this course was how economic and social disparities between the Global North and South (the tropics are in the Global South) affect tropical agriculture. I also enjoyed learning about specific tropical crops and sustainable agriculture.
