What is the New Hampshire Classical Association? It is an organization consisting of high school and university teachers, as well as younger scholars who want to join a vibrant group of people interested in the ancient world. Each year NHCA puts on four regular events: 1) Classics Day for Teachers, usually held the last week of September and featuring lectures on various aspects of the ancient world; 2) the Granite State Certamen, an academic quiz bowl on Latin and topics from ancient Rome; 3) Classics Day for Students, normally held in May and aimed at providing high school students from the state a performance based on a topic from the ancient world; and 4) state Latin and mythology exams.
